Cirm-CRM Agreement: Small Group Research Stays

Deadline: 15 April 2026. The Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (Cirm, Marseille, France) and the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM, Montréal, Québec, Canada) have partnered to offer: all mathematicians working in France; all mathematicians whose university is a CRM partner, the opportunity to gather as a team to conduct research, including a stay at Cirm and a stay at CRM. Each team must consist of one or two individuals working in France and one or two individuals whose university is a CRM partner.

International Theses in IRLs

Deadline: March 20, 2026. The National Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Their Interactions will fund a small number of CNRS theses. Description This is funding for a doctoral student, registered in France, with a thesis supervisor employed in a UMR or a laboratory linked to a FR federation. There must be an existing link with an IRL through co-supervision or simply the identification of a partner in the IRL on the thesis topic, who could host the doctoral student for a period of at least three months during the course of the thesis (this through stays each year).

Deadline: 10 January 2026. Mathematicians working in France and students enrolled in a university in France are eligible for FRQ funding to visit the CRM in connection with its scientific activities. The application must include a letter of intent with a description of the activity, a budget proposal, a letter of nomination from an CRM member (or the e-mail address of an CRM member who could serve as a reference), a CV including a list of publications must be submitted so that the visit starts at least 2 months and no more than 9 months after the application deadline.

FRQ support: extended Research Visits in France for CRM Members

Deadline : 10 January 2026 CRM scientists are eligible for FRQNT grants for medium-term stays (up to 6 months) in a French laboratory. FRQ support: participation in Scientific Events in France

Members of the CRM (or one of its laboratories), CRM post-docs and graduate students supervised by CRM members are eligible for FRQ funding to attend scientific events in France. Eligible expenses include travel, accommodation and a 70 CAD per diem for meals. The application must include a description or program of the event, including location, date and web address, a letter explaining the purpose of participation, a budget request indicating costs, [for students and postdoctoral fellows only] a proof of registration at a Quebec university must be submitted so that the event begins at least 6 weeks after the application deadline.

FRQ support: research internship in France for students

Deadline : 10 January 2026. Students supervised by a member of the CRM (or one of its laboratories) who are enrolled in a 2nd or 3rd cycle program at a Quebec university are eligible for FRQ research internship grants in France. The application must include a description of the work to be carried out during the internship, a curriculum vitae and a recent transcript of the candidate’s grades, a letter of recommendation signed by the thesis or dissertation supervisor, a letter signed by the internship supervisor specifying the start and end dates of the internship internship must be submitted so that the internship begins at least 2 months and no more than 9 months after the application deadline.

Simons Program: Long-Term Stays in Québec

Deadline: January 10, 2026 This program, funded thanks to the generous support of the Simons Foundation, targets two categories of exceptional researchers in mathematics and related fields: junior researchers (who obtained their PhD less than 10 years ago) and senior researchers. It offers the opportunity to carry out research stays of 1 to 6 months at one of the CRM’s partner universities: Concordia University (Montréal); University of Ottawa; Université de Montréal; Université du Québec à Montréal; Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières; Université Laval (Québec); McGill University (Montréal). FMJH: Research Stays for PhD Students

Deadline: 31 December 2025. As part of global agreements between the FMJH and various Canadian partners, applicants are required to apply simultaneously to the program described below and to the programs of the Canadian partners. Please refer to these parallel applications in your submission. Agreement with the CRM (Quebec); Agreement with the Fields Institute (Ontario). The calls are planned for implementation in three phases. Phase 1: release mid-January with application deadline 1st March. Phase 2: release mid-March with application deadline 15th June. Phase 3: release mid-September with application deadline 31st December. From Canada to France PhD students from Canada can apply for a grant from the Junior Scientific Visibility Program of the Fondation mathématique Jacques Hadamard to conduct a one- or two-month visit to one of the laboratories affiliated to the Foundation. The maximum grant amount is €2300. The application must include details about the stay (duration, location, cost, requested funding amount), a favorable opinion from the thesis supervisor, an invitation letter with approval from the host laboratory management, and a motivated scientific program.
