The European Research Council (ERC) grant programs are open to researchers of all ages and nationalities, residing anywhere in the world at the time of application, who wish to conduct their research in host institutions based in the European Union or an associated country.

Researchers at all stages of their careers can apply for an ERC Plus Grant if they have an exceptional track record of scientific achievements at the forefront of their field. Their intellectual leadership will be assessed according to their career stage.

ERC Plus Grants are awarded for a minimum of four years and up to seven years without reduction for projects under seven years. The maximum grant amount is €7 million.
