FMJH: Research Stays for PhD Students

Deadline: 31 December 2026. As part of global agreements between the FMJH and various Canadian partners, applicants are required to apply simultaneously to the program described below and to the programs of the Canadian partners. Please refer to these parallel applications in your submission. Agreement with the CRM (Quebec); Agreement with the Fields Institute (Ontario). The calls are planned for implementation in three phases. Phase 1: release mid-January with application deadline 1st March. Phase 2: release mid-March with application deadline 15th June. Phase 3: release mid-September with application deadline 31st December. From Canada to France PhD students from Canada can apply for a grant from the Junior Scientific Visibility Program of the Fondation mathématique Jacques Hadamard to conduct a one- or two-month visit to one of the laboratories affiliated to the Foundation. The maximum grant amount is €2300. The application must include details about the stay (duration, location, cost, requested funding amount), a favorable opinion from the thesis supervisor, an invitation letter with approval from the host laboratory management, and a motivated scientific program.

PIMS: Long-term Research Stays in France for PIMS Members

Deadline: 30 September 2026. Scientists from PIMS member institutions are eligible for fellowships for a medium-term stay (2 months or longer) in a French laboratory. The application must include: A focused overview of the planned research activity, including locations and collaborators based in France (up to 5 pages); A letter of support from the proposed host institution in France; A letter from the applicant’s department head supporting the proposed visit. This letter must specify the duration of the stay in France. For stays covering part of the academic year, the department must commit to providing teaching release for the planned duration of the visit. It must be sent to the PIMS Director (director@pims.math.ca) by September 30th each year for stays beginning the following calendar year.

CNRS – CRM – FMJH – FSMP Agreement

A collaboration agreement has been signed between the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences and their Interactions (Insmi), the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM), the Jacques Hadamard Mathematical Foundation (FMJH), and the Paris Mathematical Sciences Foundation (FSMP), with the goal of strengthening mathematical research cooperation between France and Québec. This article summarizes the instruments that make such cooperation possible. This website will publicize them regularly, and a newsletter provides updates on the site and on upcoming deadlines for the calls for proposals described here.

Cirm-CRM Agreement: Mirror conferences

Deadline: June 15, 2026. The Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (Cirm, Marseille, France) and the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM, Montreal, Quebec, Canada) have joined forces to offer the opportunity to organize Franco-Québécois mirror conferences. A mirror conference is an event that takes place at two sites: some of the participants are in residence at Cirm; others are at the CRM. Some talks held at one center are broadcast live to the other. The event is expected to last about three days and involve around ten researchers on each side. The host institute for each group will cover the accommodation costs of its guests, according to its own procedures.

Invited Professor in Optimization, Operations Research, and Data Science

Deadline: April 30, 2026. The Jacques Hadamard Mathematical Foundation offers invitation grants for professors in the fields of optimization, operations research, and data science. The invited person must be hosted by a laboratory in the Paris-Saclay region. They will need to participate in certain events of the Gaspard Monge program (such as a seminar) and give an advanced course in optimization at one of the institutions on the Saclay plateau. Doctoral and Postdoctoral Mobility from Quebec to France

Deadline: April 24, 2026. The Consulate General of France in Quebec is partnering with the FRQ and is opening the annual call for applications for the Quebec - France Sophie Germain 2026 mobility scholarships. This program promotes the mobility of doctoral and postdoctoral students from Quebec to France. The awarded scholarships support research stays of a minimum of one month in organizations and institutions in France. The scholarship amount is 3,000 CAD. This amount is intended to cover travel and accommodation expenses. This scholarship can be combined with other funding.
