Cirm-CNRS Agreement: Mirror conferences

Deadline: June 15, 2026. The Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (Cirm, Marseille, France) and the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM, Montreal, Quebec, Canada) have joined forces to offer the opportunity to organize Franco-Québécois mirror conferences. A mirror conference is an event that takes place at two sites: some of the participants are in residence at Cirm; others are at the CRM. Some talks held at one center are broadcast live to the other. The event is expected to last about three days and involve around ten researchers on each side. The host institute for each group will cover the accommodation costs of its guests, according to its own procedures.

Cirm-CNRS Agreement: Small Group Research Stays

Application deadline: December 15, 2025. The Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (Cirm, Marseille, France) and the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM, Montreal, Quebec, Canada) have joined forces to offer: all mathematicians working in France; all mathematicians whose university is a CRM partner, the opportunity to form a team and carry out a research project that includes a stay at Cirm and a stay at CRM. Each team must consist of one or two members based in France and one or two members affiliated with a CRM partner university.

FRQ support: participation in Scientific Events in France

Deadline : October 1, 2025. Members of the CRM (or one of its laboratories), CRM post-docs and graduate students supervised by CRM members are eligible for FRQ funding to attend scientific events in France. Eligible expenses include travel, accommodation and a 70 CAD per diem for meals. The application must include a description or program of the event, including location, date and web address, a letter explaining the purpose of participation, a budget request indicating costs, [for students and postdoctoral fellows only] a proof of registration at a Quebec university must be submitted so that the event begins at least 6 weeks after the application deadline.

FRQ support: extended Research Visits in France for CRM Members

Deadline : October 1, 2025. CRM scientists are eligible for FRQNT grants for medium-term stays (up to 6 months) in a French laboratory. The application must include a CV and a list of publications ; a (short) scientific project for the stay ; the projected dates of the stay; a letter of support from the host laboratory must be submitted so that the internship begins at least 2 months and at most 12 months after the application deadline.

FRQ support: visit in CRM of mathematicians from France

Deadline: October 1, 2025 Mathematicians working in France and students enrolled in a university in France are eligible for FRQ funding to visit the CRM in connection with its scientific activities. The application must include a letter of intent with a description of the activity, a budget proposal, a letter of nomination from an CRM member (or the e-mail address of an CRM member who could serve as a reference), a CV including a list of publications must be submitted so that the visit starts at least 2 months and no more than 9 months after the application deadline.

FRQ support: research internship in France for students

Deadline : October 1, 2025. Students supervised by a member of the CRM (or one of its laboratories) who are enrolled in a 2nd or 3rd cycle program at a Quebec university are eligible for FRQ research internship grants in France. The application must include a description of the work to be carried out during the internship, a curriculum vitae and a recent transcript of the candidate’s grades, a letter of recommendation signed by the thesis or dissertation supervisor, a letter signed by the internship supervisor specifying the start and end dates of the internship internship must be submitted so that the internship begins at least 2 months and no more than 9 months after the application deadline.

Long term visit in Canada

Researchers and faculty members affiliated with UMRs/FRs/FRAs of the Insmi may apply to carry out a medium- or long-term research stay abroad (6 to 12 months) in 2026 or 2026–2027 at one of the International Research Laboratories (IRLs) listed on the Insmi website. These IRLs are joint units governed by the same legal framework as the joint research units (UMRs) in France. They are co-managed by the CNRS and one or more foreign institutions in the country where they are based. CNRS researchers may be assigned to them temporarily (with a return to their original laboratory at the end of the assignment). Faculty members must apply for a CNRS delegation. In both cases, financial support is available from the CNRS. The Guide de l’expatrié (DR16) provides further information about expatriation procedures, which are managed by the HR and finance departments of CNRS DR16 Paris-Normandie.

Postes rouges : Hosting mathematicians from Canada in French laboratories

Deadline: September 30, 2025. The Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) offers mathematicians working in an institution outside France the opportunity to spend three months in a laboratory in France between February 1, 2026 and November 30, 2026. This stay is accompanied by financial support: travel, visa, accommodation and catering expenses for the duration of the stay. Interested parties must first identify a laboratory in France that can host them, and contact a colleague with whom they can develop a research program during their stay. The list of laboratories is available on the Math in France website

Exchanges Between the Fields Institute, Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris and Fondation mathématique Jacques Hadamard

A partnership between the Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris (FSMP) and the Fields Institute, on the one hand, and between the Fondation Mathématique Jacques Hadamard (FMJH) and the Fields Institute, on the other hand, facilitates exchanges among mathematicians associated with these institutions. Fields - FSMP Program Doctoral Students Doctoral students affiliated with a laboratory member of the FSMP can apply to the doctoral stay program to carry out a stay of one to three months at a university member of the Fields Institute.

Université de Montréal Grant - European Union

Deadline: Ongoing call The EU–UdeM Partnership Grants aim to strengthen research engagement with universities in the European Union. They encourage collaborations across all academic disciplines that may lead to research projects funded by external sources (such as the Horizon Europe program, or federal and provincial Canadian funds with an international component). An academic sabbatical in France

The Science and Technology Department of the Consulate General of France supports long-term research stays (minimum of six months) by researchers from Québec in French research institutes. There is no official call for applications for this program. Requests may be submitted on a rolling basis. Applications must include the following documents: an official letter requesting support; a project form (available below); a detailed CV. Further information is available on the website of the Consulate General of France in Québec.
