Scholarships for Master’s Studies in France
The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris and the Embassy of France in Canada offer Canadian students the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue a Master’s program in France, in the Paris region, thanks to a scholarship of €1,150 per month, along with coverage of social security, university registration fees, and a round-trip journey.
In the French university system, the Master’s degree is a two-year program corresponding to the fourth and fifth years of higher education. It leads either to professional integration or to a formation through and for research (PhD), offering a pathway adaptable to both situations. The list of eligible programs covers a wide range of mathematics fields.
Application for a scholarship is possible either for the entire Master’s program (two years) or only for the second year.
The scholarship application file consists of:
- A CV;
- A motivation letter;
- University transcripts and first-degree diplomas (bachelor’s degree: equivalent to the French “licence”);
- One or more recommendation letters (optional: mention in the application form (step 4) the email address of professors willing to recommend you. They will receive an automatic email allowing them to upload their letter).
In addition to the scholarship application, enrollment in one of the eligible Master’s programs must be completed via the Études en France platform through the application hors Demande d’Admission Préalable procedure (also named application outside the Demande d’Admission Préalable (Hors DAP) procedure).
