The international research laboratory PIMS - CNRS
Since 2007, CNRS has been linked to the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences via an international research laboratory (IRL CNRS-PIMS), renewed in 2024 for the third time.
PIMS is a multi-site laboratory, divided between the ten universities that make it up:
- University of Alberta
- University of Calgary
- University of British Columbia
- Simon Fraser University
- University of Victoria
- University of Washington in the United States
- University of Regina
- University of Saskatchewan
- University of Lethbridge
- University of Manitoba.
Exchange from France to PIMS
Long-term (minimum six months): CNRS assignments and delegations
CNRS researchers from CNRS laboratories in France can be assigned to PIMS. After obtaining a CNRS delegation, tenured teacher-researchers can also be assigned to PIMS.
Student mobility: the PIMS Globalink program
The PIMS Globalink program enables doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers who are members of a mathematics laboratory supervised by the CNRS to apply for research grants at a PIMS member university.
Exchange from PIMS to France
Medium-term (minimum two months): the PIMS-Europe scholarship program
Any PIMS member (assistant, associate or full professor) can apply for a PIMS-Europe scholarship for a minimum two-month stay in France.
Medium-term (three months): CNRS postes rouges.
The postes rouges (red posts) program offers mathematicians working in an institution outside France the opportunity to spend three months in a laboratory in France between February 1, 2025 and November 30, 2025.
Student mobility: the PIMS Globalink program
The PIMS Globalink program enables doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers at PIMS member universities to apply for research grants in one of the mathematics laboratories supervised by the CNRS.
