Deadline: June 15, 2025.

The Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) in Montréal (Québec, Canada) is organizing a thematic semester entitled Universal Statistics in Number Theory, to be held from March 2 to July 4, 2026.

The program consists of two parts, each lasting approximately two months. The first half will be mainly devoted to arithmetic statistics. The second half will focus primarily on analytic and probabilistic number theory. A doctoral school will be held between the two, from May 4 to 15, 2026.

The CRM invites applications to participate in and attend one of the two parts of the program from PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, as well as recently appointed assistant professors and junior research fellows.

Each application must include the following documents:

  • a CV, including a list of publications;
  • a motivation letter, indicating which part of the program you wish to attend and why;
  • a research statement (maximum two pages, excluding bibliography);
  • one letter of recommendation.
