Mathematicians working in Québec or in France are eligible for grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec for a short stay (two weeks) in France or in Québec.

Research stays at the CRM for mathematicians from France

The CRM will fund stays at the CRM for mathematicians from France. Stays will last 2 weeks on average, and priority will be given to exploratory stays in view of a long-term assignment by the CNRS to the IRL CRM-CNRS, as well as to the continuation of collaborations following scientific activities at the CRM. Funding may cover:

  • travel expenses
  • accommodation expenses
  • living expenses, in the form of a per diem.

Research stays in France for CRM members

The CRM will fund research stays of its members or their students in French institutions. Stays will last 2 weeks on average, and priority will be given to projects that foster new collaborations. Funding may cover:

  • travel expenses
  • accommodation expenses
  • living expenses, in the form of a per diem.

Application

An application must be submitted to the CRM through a form available on the dedicated page:

  • A project description (2 to 3 pages) in PDF format, including:
    • The scientific objectives,
    • The collaborators involved,
    • The financial support requested,
    • Other sources of funding, if any;
  • A complete and up-to-date curriculum vitae;
  • A letter of support from a regular member of the CRM (if the application is not submitted by a regular member);
  • For PhD students and postdoctoral fellows: proof of enrolment at a university in France or in Québec, together with an indication of whether the person is enrolled in a joint PhD (cotutelle).

This call is recurring, with the following deadlines each year:

  • January 10;
  • April 1;
  • July 1;
  • November 1.
